Editorial Design

For this project, we were provided with a list of 2023’s Summer Best-Selling Nonfiction Books, and I chose to redesign the covers of The In-Between, Braiding Sweetgrass, and The Art Thief. Each of these books brings a unique perspective on human experiences and the world around us. The In-Between by Hadley Vlahos, a seasoned hospice nurse, offers readers a collection of moving stories from her patients as they transition from life to death. Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer explores the intersection of indigenous wisdom and the natural world, shedding light on the lessons we can learn from nature. Lastly, The Art Thief by Michael Finkel uncovers the gripping tale of the world’s most prolific art thief, who amassed a collection worth over $1 billion.

In my redesigns, I used both pure and manipulated typography solutions to capture the essence of each book. These typographic choices aim to reflect the central themes and narratives of the works, enhancing the reader’s visual and emotional connection to the stories.
